Springfield Armory has recently expanded its Hellion 5.56mm bullpup rifle line by introducing new models featuring longer barrel lengths of 18 inches and 20 inches. This extension aims to enhance the rifle’s performance while maintaining its compact bullpup design.

1. Bullpup Configuration: The Hellion’s design places the action behind the trigger, significantly reducing the overall length while allowing for effective barrel lengths. The rifle remains highly portable, measuring just 28.2 inches in total length with a 16-inch barrel, and slightly longer with the new variants.
2. New Barrel Options:
   • 18-Inch and 20-Inch Models: These new variants provide increased velocity and downrange performance, making them suitable for a wider range of shooting applications. The 20-inch model closely resembles the Croatian VHS-D2, featuring a ribbed barrel for heat management and an integrated bayonet lug.
   • Barrel Specifications: The Springfield Armory Extends Hellion 5.56mm Bullpup Line  barrels are hammer-forged and chambered in 5.56mm, with a 1:7 twist rate, which is optimal for a variety of bullet weights.
3. Ambidextrous Design: The  Springfield Armory Extends Hellion 5.56mm Bullpup Line Hellion is fully ambidextrous, featuring a reversible ejection system and controls that can be operated from either side. This makes it accessible for both left- and right-handed shooters.
